Why Choose this Trip?

Professional Photography and Enthusiastic Guides

We pick you up at the airport in Jackson WY, from there everything in your trip is taken care of by Tripod Travelers. From the moment we settle you into your lodge, we begin a journey that gets you and your camera in front of elusive wildlife and set up on some of the most amazing landscape settings in North America. Due to our frequency to this park, we have built great partnerships where we are able to pass savings on to you.  We secure rooms a minimum of one year in advance at the Jackson Lake Lodge (inside the park) so our clients never need to worry about getting a reservation, something that is tough to do if you are not booking way in advance.

Wildlife and Landscapes

Come Photograph the Babies

The Grand Tetons is a photographer’s playground.  From capturing the abundant wildlife to the magnificent landscapes with the Tetons as your backdrop, our clients will have ample opportunities to explore everything this amazing National Park offers.  We plan several trips to the Grand Tetons each year during Spring, Summer, and Fall as the park offers many unique perspectives as the seasons change.  Our Spring Trips focus on the babies born during late winter and early spring.  Bears, Bison, Elk, Moose, and many other animals present their new family members in spring, and June is one of the best times to safely photograph mothers and their young.  The landscape is also quickly transforming from snow pack to rising rivers, green fields, and flowers blanket the valley. Based on the time of year, we know the specific locations animals frequent throughout the park and we get you safely in position to seize the opportunity of photographing nature at its finest.  Not only are your group leaders experts in photographing and navigating these magnificent landmarks; they pride themselves on maintaining and respecting the natural environment of all parks they visit.

Objectives

Leverage our Expertise

  • Create a learning environment where we get both you and your camera ready for the many types of wildlife and nature photography opportunities we will experience. There will be several working sessions in the field to help you improve your photography skills and practice anticipating and reacting to both animals and the environment in which you are shooting.

  • Visit locations that place our photographers in the best viewing sites to capture animals in their natural habitat. Including Moose, Bear, Elk, Bison, and other animals as presented. Our focus will be early mornings and late afternoons in areas that give our clients the best chance to photograph at designated, safe distances.

  • The Tetons is one of the best places in America to capture amazing foregrounds against the stunning mountain range background.  We will take full advantage of sunrise and sunset opportunities incorporating the Tetons, wildlife and other subjects in frame. If the skies are favorable, we will also venture out at night for an optional session to capture the Milky Way in the park.

  • We are authorized park permittees in all government regulated locations we visit, this includes National Parks and Wildlife Refuges.  Be careful booking photography workshops that cannot provide proper documentation, it can end your trip very quickly.
